How the Flock Are Yooooouuuuu????? Friday! (A day late…)

So… I’ve already failed at posting this every Friday but, what the heck, we’ll just play today!

Hey RJ, as you probably already know, we were super busy yesterday.  I have a feeling you were happier to see her than she was to see you…  Amiright?

A little backstory…  RJ was sent to the Great Hereafter a little over a year ago once he attacked everyone at the new home we found him after he had attacked everyone here.

Our Youngin’ brought 2 chicks home from school and they turned out to be 1 hen and 1 rooster, RJ and Chase.  Lemmetellya, being a one-hen-harem is a horrible happenstance.  Poor girl had a huge bald spot on her back, thanks to his constant “attention”.

Well, 2 days ago Chase got real sick and died at the end of the day so we spent most of yesterday cleaning out the coop to mitigate possible contagion and giving her a proper burial.  Hopefully, he’s a little easier on her in the Great Hereafter!

We will miss you, Chase, our fine feathered friend!

Friends, tell RJ, How the Flock Are Yooooouuuuu?????

How the Flock* Are Yooooouuuuu??? Friday!

Tell RJ!  He reeeaaalllyyy wants to know!  The good… the bad… the funky…

Fun, fresh feature for Fridays.  Tell RJ your Joys and Concerns.  Feel free to offer Encouragement in comments to others.  Only 2 rules to participate~ We will keep it within a PG-13ish boundary AND We will only lift people up, not tear them down.

I shall inaugurate this new feature by sharing an amazing Joy!

Hey RJ, I’m elated!  A good friend of mine who needs a kidney transplant just found out that he has a donor!  Woohoo!

Chime in with a comment and tell RJ, How the Flock* Are Yooooouuuuu???

*According to the Rooster Translator, “flock” is close enough to the spirit of RJ’s intent to keep within the spirit of PG-13 😉

Resurrection~ Everything is Coming Back!

The Sun is coming back!

10 hours of daylight (active growing season) is coming back!

My blog is coming back!

I’M coming back!!!

A TON has happened since my last post, and I plan to write a few stories to fill in the giant, gaping gap, but in the meantime here is a quick overview…

Added 6 pullets-gave away rooster, awesome trip to Atlanta with Hubby, warm December-garden work-blew hernia, 2/1/16 triple hernia repair-ugh, awesome trip to Allentown with Hubby over my birthday, excellent Solstice week at Wisteria with my Mother and Sister, convinced my Youngin to Homeschool, Biggun applying to colleges, another super-informative trip to the Mother Earth News Fair with Hubby and NO accidental skirt dropping, hosted fantastic holiday season with family and many friends, FINALLY coming outta hibernation!

Stay tuned…!

Never. Actually. Happens. Right???

I have never experienced this fear myself but you know how some people have nightmares or anxiety attacks about leaving the house with no pants or their pants falling off in public? Never actually happens… right?

I still can’t stand wearing pants since surgery, just skirts that I can hike way up. I had one on today that requires a safety pin and made it a little too tight. Of course I was driving when I decided it was driving me nuts. I asked my BFF to please remove the safety pin for me and just toss it in the cupholder. Still too tight so I untied the string on the other side and jokingly told my BFF not to let me get out of the car with my skirt undone. Haha.

A while later we pulled into a rest stop and got out of the car. Our other traveling companion was commenting on my scarf when I suddenly noticed much more of a breeze than seemed reasonable…

I dropped my skirt in the middle of the rest stop parking lot!!! What a hoot! What a way to end a fab fun weekend with 2 great friends. Half nekkid in public and crying with laughter. Really, just the cherry on top.
